About
Freelancing the Net is a blog dedicated to giving advice and tips to other freelancers or those looking to freelance. It is the first hand account of how a freelancer got to where he is, from the beginning up until now.
Let me explain. A question I get from a lot of people is how did I start my business. How do I know what to do? Fellow students looking to do the same thing ask me for advice. I thought telling this ongoing story would be helpful. And I know. There are literally hundreds of freelancing resources out there. But I though this would be different. This is a first hand account, not advice being past down.
This site will have two different types of posts- a weekly (twice a week?) story about how I got to where I am and where I plan to go. I’m going to try to make those chronological; and resources. Links, books, etc. that I find helpful. If you have any specific questions for me, you can ask them via the Contact Page.
I hope you find this helpful. And I love feedback. So, by all means, leave a comment or two.

How Posts Work
Freelancing the Net (FtN) has two kinds of posts: stories and resources. The stories are your typical blog posts. A few paragraphs, comments, the whole 9 yards. Resources links are simply resources to other places on the web, or books, etc. that I find helpful and think you would too. The title of a resource link will take you to that resource. Examples of each: Story and Resource. I will also, from time to time, release documents I use for my business. They will be posted as resources and will go into this folder. Please read the read me file (named 0-README.txt) before using any of the documents.
Finally, I will be posting tips on Twitter. the official Freelancing the Net Twitter Account is here. You can view all of the tips by searching for the #ftntip hash.
Wrap Up
Finally, it’s worth noting that this site doesn’t support Internet Explorer 6. Special Thanks to WordPress, Alex King, Dave Shea, and everyone else listed in the footer that helped make developing this blog easier on my part.
